How to Talk About Diversity at Home (Virtual program)

Over the past several years Westborough Public Schools (WPS) has focused on continual improvement and learning about how to become a district where every member of the school community thrives.  The WPS Strategic Plan embraces equity and outlines goals for continuing to create schools that reflect its diverse and vibrant families.

Westborough Public Schools has enlisted Dr. Liza Talusan to continue work with staff as they deepen a commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and justice. Dr. Talusan has begun working with school administrators and she will soon be working with department heads and curriculum coordinators and faculty.

Westborough Public Schools, in partnership with Westborough Connects, invites community members to meet Dr. Talusan and to participate in a workshop via Zoom from 7:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday November 8th titled “How to Talk About Diversity at Home.”

Pre-registration is required and a Zoom link will be provided in advance of the workshop. Language interpretation and closed captioning are available (must register by November 2nd).

There is much going on in our world, nation, and community right now. In addition to the global health pandemic that has impacted our schooling, learning, and engagement, we are also responding to issues of racial and economic injustice. Some families have struggled with how to talk about issues of diversity in our homes. Join Dr. Liza Talusan, a nationally recognized facilitator and educator, as we come together with families and loved ones to work through these difficult conversations.
