“Thank you for everything you are doing this week! It has given us some fun activities to do at home.” - Marcia H
What is Kindness Week?
We're glad you asked! It is an annual celebration of the kindness in our community - a time to shine a spotlight on the good and inspire people to spread kindness through their own actions. Kindness Week focuses on kindness to others, kindness to self and kindness to the earth. Follow us on Facebook (@WCKindnessWeek) to stay up-to-date on events throughout the week! You can also sign up for our mailing list HERE.
Our second annual Kindness Week took place from March 29th through April 4th, 2020. Originally planned with many in-person events and activities slated to take place during the week, the Kindness Week team quickly pivoted and re-imagined the week in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Isn't kindness important everyday (not just one week out of THE year)?
YES! Being kind is always important and studies prove that kindness to others brings both physical and emotional benefits. But daily life sometimes "gets in the way" and we can lose sight of our own efforts related to kindness. School-aged children learn about and practice kindness as part of school curriculum. Kindness Week provides an opportunity to do this across the entire community - all age groups. We believe that this week has ripple effects throughout our community - and that it helps to define our community.
How does it work?
Kindness Week provides an opportunity for people to make a personal commitment to being kind and recognizing the kindness of others around them. This aligns with the Westborough Connects mission of building a more connected and kind community where everybody feels like they belong.
Kindness Week is typically celebrated with events at various locations throughout the week. We would like to thank our Partners in Kindness (see below), who had joined with us in planning some great events this year. However, given the current social distancing guidelines, we shifted all of the activities throughout the week to ones that could be done from home.
thank you to our partners in kindness!
